SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2022 PROJECT

Main Fish.png

This summer, I was commissioned to create an ad campaign for the Lawrence Public Library Summer Reading Program. I was tasked to create characters that would appeal to both younger kids and teens, to help promote the message that it doesn't matter what you read, as long as you're reading. The biggest challenge was that I only had a little under a week to complete this by the May 1st deadline

PRE-PRODUCTION

When initially creating the characters, I knew I wanted a shark character to be the bully. The twist is, instead of him bullying them for reading, he was bullying them for not reading. I realized the storyline felt kinda cheesy and campy. So I decided to go further with that angle and give it a 'Saturday Morning Cartoon' style message.

CHARACTER DESIGN AND FINAL VIDEO

I was able to get most of the work done relatively quickly. And wrapped up animation in only four days! I also did the voice over for all of the characters. Overall this project was a great challenge, only having a little under a week to complete.
